An IPS officer has been appointed as Chairman of J&K PSC. He has also gotten thus, an extended lease of career.
Year 1991 batch of Indian Police Service officer from AGMUT cadre, Arun Kumar Chowdhary has been appointed Chairman, Public Service Commission for the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir by the Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
Replacing Satish Chandra (Retd IAS 1986: AP), IPS Chowdhary has been given a term of next two and a half year till August 2026.
Holding a vast experience of administration while serving as J&K Cadre IPS officer, Chowdhary had later become part of AGMUT Cadre post abrogation of Article 370 in the state.
AK Chowdhary had completed his tenure in December last year and later became Chairman of the RERA in J&K.
