Uttar Pradesh DGP Sulkhan Singh’s retirement is due in September. According to highly placed sources, Yogi government does not look in mood to give him an extension. It is said that govt is not happy the way law and order issue in state has been handled and has become a subject for embarrasment. NBSB has learnt that CM Yogi Adityanath is trying his best and has given free hand to officers but despite that situation on ground is not so good.
If Sulkhan Singh does not get extension, in that case 2 IPS officers from 1982 batch Praveen Singh and Dr. Surya Kumar will be strong contenders for this top post. But Praveen Singh’s chances are fairly good.
