West Bengal witnesses bureaucratic reshuffle in the state Bureaucracy where 4 IAS & 1 IFS Officer have been given new postings. IAS Debal Ray has also been appointed Principal Secretary of Forest Dept, WB.
In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the West Bengal government, led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, reassigned key officials to new positions on Wednesday. The reshuffle includes four IAS officers and one IFS officer.
Debal Ray, a 1991 batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Forest Department, in addition to his current role as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests. He takes over from Manoj Kumar Agarwal, who was recently named the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal.
Among the IAS officers, Rajesh Sinha from the 1997 batch, currently serving as Principal Secretary of the Housing and Youth Services & Sports Departments, has been given additional responsibility for the Disaster Management and Civil Defence Departments.
Anshul Gupta, a 2013 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). Meanwhile, 2008 batch IAS officer Dipika Sanyamath will now serve as the Secretary of the Mass Education Extension & Library Services Department.
Additionally, 2011 batch IAS officer Uma Sankar S has been designated as the Senior Special Secretary of the Agriculture Department.
These appointments are part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to streamline administrative functions and enhance governance.
