IAS Vineet Joshi has been given an additional charge as UGC Chairperson.
Mr. Vineet Joshi, a 1992-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Manipur cadre, has been assigned the additional responsibility of Chairperson of the University Grants Commission (UGC). He is currently serving as the Secretary of the Department of Higher Education.
This decision is part of the government’s efforts to ensure continuity and strong leadership in the higher education regulatory body. With his extensive experience in the education sector, Mr. Joshi is expected to contribute to ongoing reforms and policy initiatives in India’s higher education system.
