In a major administrative overhaul aimed at boosting efficiency and governance, the Uttar Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has transferred 16 IAS officers, including six District Magistrates (DMs). The reshuffle affects several key districts and departments across the state.

According to an official statement, the changes have been made to optimize administrative performance and improve service delivery at the grassroots level.

Key District-Level Appointments

One of the most significant changes involves Chandra Vijay Singh, a 2012-batch IAS officer, who has been relieved from his role as DM of Ayodhya. He has now been appointed as Special Secretary in the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department.

Taking over as the new DM of Ayodhya is Nikhil Tikaram Funde, a 2014-batch officer who was previously serving as DM of Chandauli.

Chandra Mohan Garg, a 2016-batch officer who held the post of Municipal Commissioner in Prayagraj, has been appointed as the new DM of Chandauli. Seelam Sai Teja, a 2018-batch officer and the current Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Jaunpur, will succeed Garg as Municipal Commissioner of Prayagraj.

Meanwhile, Mrinali Avinash Joshi, a 2021-batch IAS officer and Joint Magistrate of Gorakhpur, has been posted as the new Chief Development Officer of Jaunpur.

This reshuffle reflects the government’s ongoing focus on strengthening administrative leadership in key districts and ensuring more responsive governance.
