IPS officer Utkal Ranjan Sahu is new acting Director General of Rajasthan Police.
Currently DG Home Guards, UR Shau has been given additional charge as DGP Rajasthan Police today following the voluntary retirement of the incumbent DGP Umesh Mishra.
On Saturday senior IPS UR Sahu took charge as acting DGP of Rajasthan at the police headquarters today.
The 1988-batch IPS officer, who is currently the director general of Rajasthan home guards, took the additional charge after Director General of Police Umesh Mishra took VRS on Saturday.
Sahu, after assuming the charge, says that based on priorities and instructions of the state government, the police force would work towards preventing crime against cyber crimes, gang war and women.
New acting DGP assures effective action will be taken against crimes against women, those involved in cyber crimes and gangsters.
