While the deadline for linking Aadhaar to existing bank accounts, mobile numbers and PAN has been extended by the Supreme Court, the Unique Identification Authority Of India (UIDAI), in a late evening tweet on Tuesday, clarified the requirement of Aadhaar will continue for opening new accounts or applying for Tatkal passports.
The UIDAI, however, added that “for those who do not have Aadhaar, they are required to apply for Aadhaar and provide the Aadhaar application number while applying for availing aforesaid services.”
