The Modi Govt has punished two ‘non-performing’ civil servants by ordering premature retirement of two Indian Police Service (IPS) officers —Raj Kumar Dewangan(1992batch) of Chhattisgarh cadre and Mayank Sheel Chohan(1998 batch) of Union Territories cadre.
Officials in the home ministry, said the order for the pre-mature retirement of Dewangan and Chohan was issued following a performance review which found that their ‘services were no longer useful for general administration’ and they can be compulsorily retired in ‘public interest’.
