Three IPS officers have been promoted at the Centre. All the three officers belong to 1991 batch of IPS officers.
Among the three 1991 batch of senior Indian Police Services officers are Piyush Anand, Vivek Gogia and RA Chandra Sekhar.
Following the nod from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) to the Ministry of Home Affairs’ proposition, the three IPS officers have been promoted with assignments of greater responsibilities.
IPS Vivek Gogia has been promoted to the post of Director of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). He will be working on the position till July 31st, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
On the other hand, IPS RA Chandra Sekhar, has been made the Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau (IB). He has been given a tenure of two years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
