IAS Punit Kansal has been granted a tenure extension along with a post upgradation.
As per a recent directive issued by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet, name of IAS Punit Kansal has been mandated for a tenure extension along with a post upgradation.
A year 1996 batch IAS officer of Sikkim cadre, Punit Kansal is currently serving as Joint Secretary. Now with the upgradation to the level of Additional Secretary in Cabinet Secretariat, he will continue serving up to 26.04.2025.
IAS Puneet Kansal has had a notable career. After joining Indian Administrative Services in 1996 he has held many a significant positions throughout his service. With a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from IIT Roorkee, Kansal also holds an MBA from Amity University.
While serving in several capacities within the state government of Sikkim at the central level, he represented his administrative excellence through his actively prominent role as the Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat until April 2023 which got extended up to April 2025 with the upgradation.
