Telangana has now formed IAS Committee to investigate alleged illegal sale of Bhoodan Land.
The Telangana government has constituted a three-member IAS panel to probe the alleged fraudulent sale of 103 acres of Bhoodan land in Nagaram village, Rangareddy district. The development was communicated to the Telangana High Court on Wednesday.
According to a memo submitted before a bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice Renuka Yara, the committee includes senior IAS officers Navin Mittal, Raghunandan Rao, and Shashanka. The panel has been directed to examine all relevant records pertaining to the land under survey numbers 181 and 182 and submit its report within three weeks.
The inquiry follows allegations that private individuals used forged documents to sell the land, originally donated under the Bhoodan movement. The case has attracted scrutiny from various investigative agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate, which questioned former Rangareddy Collector D. Amoy Kumar and several other officials.
In parallel, the Bhoodan Yagna Board has initiated its own inquiry, leading the district administration to revoke pattadar passbooks issued to a private company. The matter reached the High Court after the legal heirs of the original land donors filed a writ appeal challenging a previous single-judge verdict.
