1982 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, Tapan Ray has been appointed as additional secretary in the Department of Electronics and Communications, Ministry of Telecommunications and IT. Prior to this he was serving in his parent cadre. Ray has succeeded Rajiv Gauba.
