IPS Swapan Sharma has been appointed as Ludhiana Police Commissioner.
Mr. Swapan Sharma, a 2009-batch Punjab cadre IPS officer, has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, succeeding Mr. Kuldeep Singh Chahal, IPS.
Before assuming this role, Mr. Sharma served as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Ferozepur Range. Recognized for his leadership and expertise in crime control, he has held key positions within the Punjab Police, contributing significantly to law enforcement and public order.
As the new Commissioner of Police for Ludhiana—one of Punjab’s largest and most vital urban centers—Mr. Sharma is expected to focus on crime prevention, public safety, and maintaining law and order in the industrial city. His appointment marks a strategic move to enhance security and governance in the region.
