The 1980 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, Surjit Kumar Chaudhary, Secretary of National Commission for Minorities has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. He has succeeded Indrajit Pal an IAS officer of 1977 batch from Andhra Pradesh cadre.
