The ECI has transfers several non-cadre IAS and IPS officers in four Indian states.
Several non-cadre IPS and IAS officers have been transferred with new postings by the The Election Commission of India. The four states these officers hail from are Gujarat, West Bengal, Punjab and Odisha.
This has been transpired in a bid to maintain a “level playing field” prior to the the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Significant names in the list of the officers transferred includes Himanshu Agarwal (2014 batch IAS), Vishesh Sarangal (2013 batch IAS) and Harmanbir Singh Gill (brother of Congress MP Jasbir Dimpa).
