Retired IAS officer Srikant Prusty has been appointed as Commissioner of State Co-operative Election Commission.

In a key administrative decision aimed at bolstering cooperative governance, the State government has appointed retired IAS officer Srikant Prusty as the new Commissioner of the State Co-operative Election Commission.

A 2003 batch officer, Prusty recently concluded a distinguished career in public service. An alumnus of IIT Kharagpur with an M.Tech degree, he is widely respected for his leadership across a range of departments and developmental initiatives.

Prior to his retirement, Prusty served as the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Northern Division) in Sambalpur, where he played a pivotal role in regional administration. Earlier, as Special Secretary in the Panchayati Raj Department, he was recognized for effectively managing resource allocation among Panchayati Raj Institutions.

His contributions to the Handloom, Textiles & Handicrafts Department were especially impactful, having led the drafting of the Odisha Textile & Apparel Policy 2022—an important step in revitalizing the state’s textile sector.

Throughout his career, Prusty also held key roles such as Additional Secretary in the Higher Education Department, Director of Horticulture, and Program Director of the Odisha Tribal Empowerment and Livelihoods Programme (OTELP) under the ST & SC Development Department.
