The Supreme Court of India took note to Archana Ramasundaram on her joining in Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) as Additional Director on 8th May but restrained her from discharging her duties as Additional Director in CBI till the next hearing on 17th July.
A bench of Chief Justice RM Lodha and Justice A K Patnaik, Justice K S Radhakrishnan and Justice S S Nijjar asked the CBI not to allow RAmasundaram to function as Additional Director till further orders after petitioner Vineet Narain’s counsel K K Venugopal said the government imposed its chosen officer on CBI despite the selection committee not recommending her name for the Additional Director’s post.
