The 1980 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, Satyanarayan Mohanty, Secretary, National Disaster Management Authority, has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development. Mohanty has succeeded Ashoka Thakur, an IAS officer of batch 1977 from Himachal Pradesh cadre.
