IPS officer Ruchika Rishi has been posted as Additional Director of Wildlife Crime Control Bureau.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed senior IPS officer Ruchika Rishi (IPS:2004:SK) as the Additional Director of the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB). The appointment, made on a deputation basis, was formalized through an official order issued on April 8.
Rishi, currently serving as Inspector General/Director at the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), will assume her new role upon taking charge. Her tenure will continue until the completion of her five-year combined deputation period ending April 9, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
A 2004-batch IPS officer from the Sikkim cadre, Ruchika Rishi brings with her a wealth of experience in policing, research, and law enforcement. Her new assignment is expected to bolster the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau’s efforts in tackling illegal wildlife trade and enhancing inter-agency coordination.
Operating under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the WCCB plays a pivotal role in curbing wildlife-related offences and supporting conservation initiatives across India.
