Retired IPS officer VJ Chandran starts new stint with BJP ahead of LS polls in the state of Puducherry.
Year 2003 batch of IPS officer VJ Chandran belongs to the AGMUT cadre. He was retired from service as Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Puducherry ten months ago in May 2023.
Chandran has now joined the ruling BJP in the presence of Home Minister A Namassivayam and Puducherry BJP President, S Selvaganapathy ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
Speaking to media, Chandran clarifies, “I do not have any intention to contest the April 19 Lok Sabha polls in Puducherry.”
