A retired Indian Forest Service officer has been duped and lost his pension money.
As per a complaint in police lodged by Rakesh Chandra, the fraudsters had approached him in disguise of a treasury officer.
Rakesh Chandra, retired Indian Forest Services officer, was duped in a cyber fraud. He was duped of ₹29 lakh, his total pension settlement money.
Janakipuram resident, Chandra had retired from his last posting in Aligarh. On 24th of December an FIR was lodged by him saying that the fraudsters had approached him in disguise of a treasury officer.
Chandra’s allegation also involves the bank officials in the scam. He in the FIR says, on December 8 he received a call from a man who introduced himself as Kuldeep. The person told him he was from the treasury in Lucknow. During the phone call, the person succeeded to take all of his banking info.
Adding to this, Chandra says, “Upon realizing that it was a trap call, I immediately ran to my bank and asked them to freeze my account. Thus I got my bank account freezed.”
Even after the freezing of the account, all his money in the account got emptied after a few days. Chandra alleges that when he approached the bank officials, they did not take any action on his complains. them with the situation.
