Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mulayam Singh after meeting with his government ministers ordered reshuffling of twelve key cabinet portfolios in his government. They are:
- Balram Yadav , divested from the charge of Panchayati Raj and appointed Ministers for prisons.
- Rajendra Chaudhary, Party Spokeperson was deprived of the prisons department and made minister for political pensions.
- Ram Govind Chaudhary was left with basic education, while his child development and nutrition portfolios were taken away and taken over by Akhilesh.
- Brahma Shankar Tripathi, so far minister for Homeguards, Prantiya Raksha Dal and vocational education, handed over charge of vocation education and skill development to the CM.
- Pandey has now been assigned the science and technology ministry, which was earlier held by state minister Abhishek Mishra.
- Abhishek Mishra as state minister for vocational education skill development, he will now assist Akhilesh directly in managing the ministry.
- Narad Rai minister of Khadi and Gramodyog
- Akhilesh has taken over this ministry as well, where he will be assisted by state minister Farid Mahfooz Kidwai. Kailash, who was till now in charge of Khadi and Gramodyog, was made minister for Panchayati Raj.
- Secondary education minister Iqbal Mahmood was shifted to fisheries and public enterprises,
- Mahboob Ali was made minister for secondary education.
- Vijay Kumar Mishra faced a downgrade too. Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav took away his additional energy sources ministry and added it to his own kitty, while handing over the charge of religious affairs to Mishra.
