The Former 1976 batch IPS officer of Kerala cadre; Ravindra Narayanan Ravi will head the Joint Intelligence Committee as its new Chairperson. He had also served as Special Director in Intelligence Bureau (IB).There were also two names in fray:
- Amitabha Mathur (1977 batch IPS of M-T cadre)
- P. J. Hanneman(1979 batch IPS officer of Assam- Meghalaya cadre)
Ravindra Narayan Ravi has succeeded Ajit Lal who has recently completed his tenure as Chiarman, JIC on July 31, 2014.
