In a significant development, IPS officers Raman Kumar Meena and Shilpa Dyavaiah have been appointed to key roles in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), bringing their extensive law enforcement expertise to the agency.
Raman Kumar Meena, a 2011-batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IPS officer, has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the CBI for the remainder of his approved tenure, which extends until February 9, 2030. Meena has had an illustrious career, previously serving as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh, before joining the CBI as SP in December 2024. Recognized for his leadership and investigative skills, he was promoted to DIG in March 2025. His experience and dedication to national security and law enforcement continue to make a significant impact.
Meanwhile, Shilpa Dyavaiah, a 2016-batch Kerala cadre IPS officer, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the CBI for a five-year tenure. Originally from Karnataka, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and an MBA. Before joining the civil services, she worked as a Business Analyst at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
Her policing career includes crucial assignments as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Kasaragod and Kannur, where she played a key role in high-profile investigations like the Koodathayi cyanide murder case. She later served as Commandant of the Kerala Women Police Battalion and became the first woman SP of Kasaragod, where she was instrumental in managing law enforcement during the COVID-19 pandemic. As District Police Chief of Kottayam, she oversaw critical law-and-order situations, including the smooth conduct of assembly elections.
Both officers bring a wealth of investigative expertise to the CBI, further strengthening the agency’s capacity to handle complex cases and uphold justice.
