The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved new administrative roles for IAS officers Rakesh Kumar Verma & Anuradha Thakur.
Punjab batch IAS officer Rakesh Kumar Verma (1993) who presently is serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, has now been appointed as Director General, India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management. The post has been temporarily upgraded and re-designated from Director General (Training) in the Election Commission of India, to be equivalent in rank and pay to Secretary to the Government of India.
On the other hand, Anuradha Thakur, IAS (HP:94), currently Additional Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. She will subsequently assume charge as Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, upon the superannuation of Shri Ajay Seth, IAS (KN:87) on 30.06.2025.
