The 1984 batch IPS officer of Gujarat cadre, Rakesh Asthana may be appointed as Joint Director, CBI. He is presently serving in the state as Surat Police Commissioner. Asthana has also been leading IPS fraternity as elected President of the Gujarat IPS Association.
