The 1984 batch IAS officer Rakesh Asthana may soon be empanelled to be posted to the rank of Additional Director General with Govt of India. He is presently serving in the state as Surat Police Commissioner. Asthana has also been leading the IPS fraterninty in the state as elected president of Gujarat IPS Association.
