The 1979 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, Rajiv Takru has been appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Minorities. Prior to this he was serving as Secretary to DoNER. Rajiv Takru has succeeded Surjit Kumar Chaudhary an IAS officer of 1980 batch of Tamil Nadu cadre. Now he has been shifted to the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals.
