IPS officer Rajiv Kumar Sharma has been appointed as Director General, BPR&D.

The Appointment Committee of Cabinet has mandated to appoint IPS officer as the Director General of the Bureau of Police Research & Development.

A year 1990-batch IPS officer Rajeev Kumar Sharma hails from Rajasthan cadre. With new order he is to assume new administrative office in the police department as as the Director General of the Bureau of Police Research & Development.

As per the order, Rajeev Kumar Sharma has been given a tenure up to his superannuation on June 30, 2026. Sharma succeeds IPS Balaji Srivastava, who finishes his tenure at March end.
