Indian Police Services officer Rajeev Kumar is going to hold charge of Director General of Police.
The West Bengal government had nominated Rajeev Kumar as the new acting Director General of Police (DGP) of the state, as per the police sources. Name of the former Kolkata Police Commissioner has also been cleared in the West Bengal Cabinet. Rajeev Kumar is now to be appointd as acting Director General of Police (DGP), West Bengal.
The former secretary of state, Information and Technology Department, Rajeev Kumar is set to replace Manoj Malviya, who retired on Wednesday.
Currently as Principal Secretary in Information Technology Department, Rajeev Kumar is a 1989-batch IPS officer who had earlier served as Commissioner of Kolkata Police.
