A Punjab woman Constable arrested with heroin, she has been dismissed Amid IPS link allegations.

Amandeep Kaur was arrested in Bathinda after a Facebook Live accusation of an affair and IPS officer protection; dismissed from service hours later as the probe intensifies.

A major controversy has rocked the Punjab Police following the arrest of senior woman constable Amandeep Kaur, who was caught with 17.7 grams of heroin near the Badal flyover in Bathinda. Her arrest came after Harmeet Kaur, a private citizen, went live on Facebook, accusing Amandeep of having an affair with her husband and being shielded by an IPS officer. Harmeet’s claims reportedly assisted Bathinda Police in tracking and apprehending Amandeep.

While the identity of the IPS officer remains unconfirmed, he is suspected to be serving in one of Punjab’s three commissionerates—Amritsar, Ludhiana, or Jalandhar. Although Harmeet’s statement has yet to be formally recorded, Punjab ADGP Sukhchain Gill swiftly announced Amandeep’s dismissal from service just hours after her arrest.

Bathinda Police are considering further action and may consult DGP Gaurav Yadav before summoning Harmeet, given the case’s sensitivity. Meanwhile, sources suggest Harmeet has provided additional details that could expand the scope of the investigation.
