Punjab Government has shifted a total number of 162 top cops in a major reshuffle.
In a sweeping administrative overhaul, the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has transferred 162 police officers in a single day, including 11 officers from the Indian Police Service (IPS). The large-scale reshuffle was formalized through two separate transfer orders issued on Sunday, signaling a significant revamp within the state’s law enforcement leadership.
The first order included 97 transfers, featuring the reassignment of 11 IPS officers to new roles, while the second covered 65 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), underscoring the government’s intent to restructure and streamline police operations across the state.
The reshuffle is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen policing efficiency, improve administrative accountability, and better align leadership with evolving law enforcement priorities.
