The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee will visit West Bengal for 18 and 19th May 2017. On 18th May he is going to inaugurate the India Institute of Liver & Digestive Sciences at Sonarpur, South 24 Panargas. On the same day, he will receive the first copy of the book Metaphysics, morals and Politics from Prof. Amal Kumar Mukhopadhyay in Kolkata.
On May 19 2017, the president will pay floral tributes to Sh. Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, former President of India on his birth anniversary at Raj Bhavan Kolkata. Later in the day he will present Dr. Malati Allen Noble Award, Dr. Sarkar Allen Mahatama Hahnemann Award and Dr. Sankar Allen Swamiji Award Instituted by the Dr. Malati Allen Charitable Trust in Kolkata and inaugurate the integrated Renewable Energy Smart Microgrid Centre & Centre for Water and Environment Research at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science & Technology at Shibupur Howrah.
