IPS Dr Atul Verma has been appointed as new DGP of Himachal Pradesh.
Following a bureaucratic development, the state administration has mandated Dr Atul Verma for the post of DGP of Himachal Pradesh.
A year 1991 batch IPS officer Dr Atul Verma hails from Himachal Pradesh cadre itself. Now superseding three officers, he has been posted as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Himachal Pradesh.
IPS Verma at present is serving as the Director General (CID). He replaces Sanjay Kundu (IPS: 1989: HP), the former DGP of Himachal Pradesh. Kundu has just retired on Tuesday after serving thirty five years in the police service.
