IAS officers Vaishali R and Chhaya Singh have been transferred to new cadres following marriage.

In a recent administrative development, two IAS officers—Vaishali R and Chhaya Singh—have been granted cadre transfers in accordance with the government’s policy allowing married IAS officers to serve in the same state.

Vaishali R, a 2023 batch IAS officer from the Gujarat cadre, has been transferred to the Andhra Pradesh cadre following her marriage to Pawar Swapnil Jagannath, an IAS officer of the Andhra Pradesh 2023 batch. Vaishali, who joined the Indian Administrative Service on December 5, 2021, holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) degree from Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. She completed her graduation with first-class honors from the University College of Medical & Dental.

Her transfer is in line with the Centre’s policy that facilitates co-cadre postings for married officers, enabling better work-life balance while continuing to serve the nation effectively.

In a parallel move, Chhaya Singh, a 2024 batch IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been transferred to Rajasthan. The transfer follows her marriage to Mohit Kasniya, an IAS officer of the Rajasthan 2022 batch. Chhaya’s relocation is expected to contribute positively to administrative efficiency in the state as she begins this new chapter in her service.

These cadre transfers underscore the government’s commitment to accommodating the personal lives of civil servants while ensuring continued administrative excellence across states.
