Senior IPS officer P Vashista has taken charge as the OSD before taking over as SSIS in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
On superannuation of incumbent Sivagami Sundari Nanda (IPS: 1988: AGMUT), a year 1991 batch senior IPS officer of Bihar cadre, Praveen Vashista (IPS: 1991: BH) has been deputed as Special Secretary of Internal Security (SSIS) in the Ministry of Home Affairs
P Vashista is to hold the office of Special Secretary up to his superannuation on July 31, 2026. Meanwhile, his tenure as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs has been curtailed for posting him as OSD, in the Home Ministry up to December 31, 2024.
