The 1991 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, V Thiruppugazh is set to join the Narendra Modi government. He has been appointed Adviser (in the rank of Joint Secretary), to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). When Narendra Modi was Gujarat Chief Minister, Thiruppugazh served as his secretary during 2005-06.He had worked closely with P.K. Mishra, now Additional Principal Secretary to Modi.
