Ministry of Steel has organized a national workshop on sustainability brainstorming for tackling high emissions.
Jharkhand cadre senior IAS officer Nagendra Nath Sinha who is Union Steel Secretary, has urged steel industry that it’s time we acted as ‘trustees of the Earth’ and for that reducing emissions and promoting sustainability is a must. This was discussed during a national workshop held in quality iron ore that requires additional processing.
Sinha not only explained the challenges faced by the industry in the workshop, he also brought attention towards the limited availability of domestic scrap, which stands at only 20-25 million tonnes.
