The Nagaland Service Associations has urged reinstatement of March 2025 IAS Induction Circular.

The Core Committee, representing key Nagaland state service associations including CANSSEA, FONSESA, NSSA, and NF&ASA, has expressed deep disappointment and concern over the abrupt withdrawal of the Vacancy Circular dated March 10, 2025, pertaining to the induction of Non-State Civil Service (Non-SCS) officers into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).

In a joint statement, the Committee criticized the government’s decision to revoke the circular after the 15-day application period had closed and without offering any clear rationale. The associations had previously submitted a formal objection and a follow-up reminder on April 4, 2025, stating that the original circular was “fair, transparent, and based on merit.”

The Committee emphasized that the March 10 circular had been well-received for its merit-based criteria, specifically requiring IAS aspirants to have entered service through the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC). The sudden withdrawal on March 25, followed by the announcement on March 27 to reissue the vacancy as per Central Government guidelines, has caused widespread concern.

They further noted that several eligible officers who had already applied now face disillusionment and a loss of trust in the process. The Committee has called on the government to reinstate the original circular and uphold a selection process that is transparent, equitable, and merit-driven.
