The Madhya Pradesh Government is to induct 16 new IAS officers in the next eight weeks.
In a significant administrative move, the Madhya Pradesh government is set to appoint 16 new Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers over the next two months. These appointments will be made by promoting officers from the State Administrative Service (SAS), as the General Administration Department has restarted the long-pending process of conferring IAS status—stalled in recent years due to various controversies.
Typically, the state inducts eight officers into the IAS each year. However, to make up for delays, this time the state will award IAS status to 16 officers, covering both the 2023 and 2024 batches.

Some of the officers, including NP Nagdev, Dr. Kailash Bundela, Kamalchand Nagar, and Jayant Kumar Vijayvat, were previously under investigation, which contributed to the delay in their elevation. However, with the process now back on track, the department has confirmed that if the awards are finalized in the coming months, the newly inducted officers will be officially recognized as IAS officers effective from January 2025.
