The series of three letters of Mahatma Gandhi which are the part of Mullock’s Historical Documents Sale to be held on May 22 to fetch between 50,000 pounds and 60,000 pounds for a set of three letters written by Gandhi in June 1935. The letters contains Mahatma Gandhi’s deep concern over his eldest son, Hiralal.
“Manu is telling me a number of dangerous things about you. She says you raped her before she turned eight and she was so hurt that medical treatment had to be taken,” the letter reads, in refence to Harilal’s daughter Manu who had come to stay at Sabarmati Ashram.
