Retired IAS Officer Prabhakar Deshmukh has been interrogated for around three hours by Satara Police.

Adding a new dimension to the case, journalist Tushar Kharat, known for repeatedly accusing Minister Jaykumar Gore, has also been arrested.

In a major development, the Satara Police questioned retired IAS officer Prabhakar Deshmukh for three hours at his residence in connection with an extortion case allegedly linked to Maharashtra’s Rural Development Minister, Jaykumar Gore.

The investigation follows the recent arrest of a woman who was caught accepting ₹2 crore as part of an extortion demand. She was apprehended in Pune’s Koregaon Park while receiving the money, prompting authorities to expand their probe.

Further complicating the case, journalist Tushar Kharat—who has frequently leveled accusations against Minister Jaykumar Gore—was also arrested. Multiple charges have been filed against Kharat, intensifying the controversy.

During a recent Legislative Assembly session, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis revealed that Prabhakar Deshmukh had been in contact with the woman who had filed a complaint against Minister Gore. This disclosure led to increased police scrutiny, resulting in officers visiting Deshmukh’s residence for questioning.

After three hours of intense interrogation, the Satara Police left Deshmukh’s home without issuing an official statement on their findings. The investigation remains active, with authorities expected to release further updates as more details emerge.
