IAS officer KG Jagadeesha has been repatriated to Karnataka cadre, whereas M Muthukumar has been entrusted with the responsibility as Coffee Board Secretary.
In a recent administrative reshuffle, senior IAS officer KG Jagadeesha (2005 batch, Karnataka cadre) has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre in Karnataka. Jagadeesha, who was serving as the Secretary of the Coffee Board in Bengaluru, was relieved following an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on April 1, 2025. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved his repatriation, which includes an extended cooling-off period.
Following this transition, IAS officer M Muthukumar (2008 batch, Odisha cadre), currently serving as the Executive Director of the Tea Board in Coonoor, has been assigned additional charge as Secretary of the Coffee Board in Bengaluru. Muthukumar will oversee the Board’s operations for the next six months, ensuring continuity in leadership and policy execution.
The Coffee Board of India (CBoI), operating under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, plays a pivotal role in promoting coffee production across the country. This leadership change aligns with broader administrative adjustments aimed at enhancing efficiency in key agricultural boards.
