The 1980 batch IAS officer of Assam cadre, Kapil Dev Tripathi has been appointed as new Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.
Tripathi, earlier secretary in the department of public enterprises, replaces Saurabh Chandra, an Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer (1978 batch).Tripathi, who also headed the Central Vigilance Commission, the country’s top anti-corruption organization that oversees the work of state agencies and companies.
