Punjab & Haryana HC welcomes Justice Nagu who has been appointed as Chief Justice.
The President of India Mrs Droupadi Murmu has appointed Justice Sheel Nagu, Judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana. Justice Nagu will start serving with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.
Since the retirement of Justice Ravi Shankar Jha in October 2023, the Punjab & Haryana High Court has been without a regular Chief Justice. Justice GS Sandhawalia is current acting Chief Justice of the High Court.
Justice Nagu was rendering services as an Acting Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court after two months ago in May 2024 Chief Justice Ravi Malimath demitted the office.
