IAS Iqbal Singh Chahal has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary in Chief Minister’s office in the state of Maharashtra.
On Friday, senior IAS officer Iqbal Singh Chahal has been posted as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) in the officer of the Maharashtra Chief Minister. This transpired shortly after Maharashtra Government transferred him from his post as Mumbai Civic Commissioner following a directive from the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Upon announcing the schedule for the Lok Sabha polls on March 16, the ECI, had instructed the government of the state to transfer Chahal from his position as Mumbai Municipal Commissioner as he had been serving in that capacity for more than three years.
Subsequently, the incumbent ACS in the CM’s office, Bhushan Gagrani has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) lately.
