Subsequent to announcement of job oriented new Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy 2017 by Uttar Pradesh, State Government is now geared up to move beyond efficiency in improving the ease of doing business environment in the State.
In this regard, Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Rajive Kumar chaired an all-important meeting of 20 concerned departments here on 15th September.
It may be noted that the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India, in partnership with the World Bank Group, had released the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) 2017 for implementation by States/UTs in April this year.
Chief Secretary issued instructions to Principal Secretaries and Heads of departments to ensure implementation of all recommendations under BRAP 2017 for reforms on regulatory processes, policies, practices and procedures spread across 12 reform areas by the end of current month. He said that investment and industrial development were vital for socio-economic development and that urgent and time-bound action was warranted to improving business environment to attract the investors to the State.
Chief Secretary directed all departments that are concerned with providing services for setting up of industry and business to incorporate their services in the U.P. Janhit Guarantee Act along with specified timelines in which the said services shall have to be provided. He added that all related departments should update and upgrade their websites, thereby imparting transparency.
Shri Rajive Kumar warned that departments failing in implementation of BRAP 2017 recommendations within the given timeline would have to face strict action.
