The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh has stated that the Indian Space Scientists are working on exciting new breakthroughs and innovative methodologies in the field of communication. The Minister has visited the Chandigarh based Semi Conductor Laboratory (SCL) of the Department of Space, today.
Elaborating further, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, “Ultra Wide Band” (UWB) systems are gaining world-wide popularity in modern communication era, particularly for short and medium range communications. In the times to come, he added, such systems will have to be developed for further applications and explained that the main passive components of the Ultra Wide Band systems are “antenna” and “filter”.
In addition, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the inherent accompanying challenges of rapid scientific advancement in modern communication technology will be to cater to a wide range of frequencies and at the same time also develop mechanism for rejection of undesired frequencies. Obviously, this aspect would require further research in order to meet requirements in the fields of Space, Defence and other applications, he added.
