Wuhan: India and China have agreed to jointly launch developmental programme in Afghanistan, a decision taken during talks between Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday.
Earlier, the two leaders began their day’s program with a morning walk along the East Lake and then both left for a boat ride.
PM Modi and Xi Jinping focussed on diverse areas of India-China cooperation. The discussions were based on the ways to encourage economic ties as well as people-to-people relations. Other areas included agriculture, technology, energy and tourism.
Two leaders agreed to maintain peace along the border, and also maintain a balance trade ties, India’s foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale said at media briefing.
Both leaders have decided that they will issue strategic guidance to their respective militaries to strengthen communications and to build trust and understanding, he added.
