Mr. Raghav Chandra, a retired IAS officer from the 1982 batch of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed Professor of Practice at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta. He is going to be part of the Public Policy and Management Academic Group.
Mr. Chandra brings with him a wealth of administrative experience spanning several decades. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held several high-profile positions, including Secretary of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, Chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and Secretary in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs.
An alumnus of the University of Delhi, he earned his B.Sc. in 1978 and M.Sc. in 1980. In 1998, he completed a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University, where he was awarded the prestigious Japan-World Bank Merit Scholarship.
With extensive experience in both Union and State governments, Mr. Chandra has made notable contributions in the fields of public administration, infrastructure development, and urban governance. His appointment is expected to enrich IIM Calcutta’s offerings in the field of public policy and provide students with valuable insights from his years of service.
